Marcelo Pitchon, Artur Tykocinski, Akaki Tsilosani, Jerry Wong The Delegation from clinic TALIZI headed by Akaki Tsilosani participated in the Annual Scientific Meeting of International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) on July 22-26, 2009 in Amsterdam. ISHRS annual meetings are generally held in America. Meeting in Amsterdam in this format for hair transplant surgeons was held for the second time. The Delegation from clinic TALIZI was quite representative: Head of the clinic Akaki Tsilosani, leading surgeon Vazha Vadachkoria and surgical assistant Salome Vadachkoria. It must be noted that bigger delegation at the meeting in Amsterdam was from Israel headed by the famous hair transplant surgeon Alex Ginsburg. The Congress dealt with the contemporary scientific and technological novelties of hair grafting, also with the topical and problematic issues, for example, single layer versus double layer closure of donor area, giga-sessions or small operations, follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS) or follicular unit extraction (FUE) etc., which for several years has been a disputable issue among hair transplant surgeons. Dr. Akaki Tsilosani based on his vast experience and scientific researches of many years has successfully and finally resolved the majority of these issues for himself and his ideology became the basis for the medical activity of clinic TALIZI.

Salome Vadachkoria, Jennifer Martinick That’s why he actively participated in the debates as to which was better: one giga-session or two or several small operations. Among the supporters of giga-session were Akaki Tsilosani, famous Brazilian surgeon Arthur Tykocinski and Canadian surgeon Jerry Wong. Among the supporters of small operations were W. Rassman, S. Keene, and M. Pitchon. Of course we consider the arguments from Mr. Akaki Tsilosani’s report very convincing (see the scientific publications) but it’s hard to say which version won the debates.
Sharon A.Keene, William R.Rassman, Marcelo Pinchon, Artur Tykocinski, Akaki Tsilosani, Jerry Wong The fact is that Amsterdam meeting confirmed that clinic TALIZI is among the three world clinics capable of conducting giga-sessions transplanting 5000-6000 and more grafts. |
